Hong Kong swimmer Siobhan Haughey, the two-time Olympic silver medallist, continued her success by capturing 2 gold and 1 bronze together with a world and a championship record, and hence being awarded as the best individual female swimmer at the 15th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m). She blitzed the pool in the women’s freestyle finals – clocking 1:50.31 in the 200m event to become Hong Kong’s first-ever swimmer to claim a world title as well as a world record; triumphing in the 100m event with a new championship record; and taking a bronze medal in the 400m event. In addition, the swimming team brought home a total of 11 new Hong Kong records from this championships.
