Hong Kong’s junior athletes achieved exceptional results at international competitions in the second half of the year. Among them, Hung Wing-long (Para Swimming – Intellectual Disability) emerged as a standout performer. With a commanding display at the Bangkok 2025 Virtus Swimming World Championships, Hung secured two gold medals in the men’s 200m and 400m individual medley youth group events, earning him the title of Most Outstanding Male Junior Athlete. Upon receiving the honour, Hung expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Shine Tak Foundation and Sports for Hope Foundation, and credited his achievements to the dedicated guidance of his coaches, as well as the unwavering support of the Hong Kong, China Sports Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability, the HKSI, his school, family and friends. He pledged to continue striving for excellence and to reach new heights in his sporting journey.

Lau Chiu-yee (Para Swimming – Intellectual Disability) clinched 1 silver and 1 bronze medals in the women’s 100m and 50m freestyle events respectively at the Bangkok 2025 Virtus Swimming World Championships. Looking ahead, Lau reaffirmed her determination to continue training hard, with the long‑term goal of competing at the Paralympic Games.

Team excellence was equally celebrated as the girls’ squash team, comprising Cheung Tsz-ching, Chung Yee-ling, Ena Kwong, and Helen Tang, claimed a silver medal at the WSF World Junior Team Squash Championships 2025, Hong Kong’s first runner-up finish in the women’s team event at this competition since 2009. The team members said in unison that the Most Outstanding Team Award was a meaningful recognition of their collective effort. They credited the achievement to strong teamwork, a fighting spirit in every match, and the guidance of their coaches, while expressing appreciation to the Shine Tak Foundation and Sports for Hope Foundation for their continued support. They added that this honour will serve as motivation to persevere and to bring pride to Hong Kong in future international competitions.
