As the 20^th Asian Games and 5^th Asian Para Games draw near, Miss Rosanna Law Shuk-pui JP, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, visited the HKSI to learn about athletes' training and preparations, and to offer her encouragement.

Accompanied by Ms Vivian Sum Fong-kwang JP, Permanent Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr George Tsoi Kin-pan JP, Commissioner for Sports; Mr Tang King-shing GBS PDSM, Chairman of the HKSI, and Mr Tony Choi Yuk-kwan MH, Chief Executive of the HKSI; and senior management of the Institute, Miss Rosanna Law toured the HKSI training facilities, including the athletic field, fencing hall, karatedo hall, squash courts and table tennis hall. She met with athletes and coaches to learn more about their training arrangements and support measures, encouraging athletes to perform to their full potential and bring pride to Hong Kong.

Miss Rosanna Law said, “With the Asian Games and Asian Para Games fast approaching, I hope Hong Kong, China athletes will perform well, showcasing their perseverance and distinctive qualities. I look forward to all Hong Kong citizens joining together to watch the Games, cheer for our athletes, and support them in achieving greater success.”

Mr Tang King-shing expressed his gratitude for the HKSAR Government’s steadfast support for the development of elite sports and athletes. He said, “The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism’s visit to the HKSI is a significant encouragement to the athletes, coaches and support teams. The HKSI will continue to provide comprehensive support to ensure athletes receive the most appropriate assistance in their preparations, empowering them to strive for excellence and bring glory to Hong Kong.”

The Asian Games and Asian Para Games will be held from 19 September to 4 October and from 18 to 24 October, respectively, across cities in Japan, including Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture.
