Accounting Assistant
The Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited (“HKSI”) is the Government’s delivery agent to provide the high performance training system for eligible sports. The HKSI’s mission is to provide an environment in which sports talent can be identified, nurtured and developed to pursue excellence in the international sporting arena benchmarked at Major Games results. We are now inviting suitable candidates for the following vacancy:
The Job
Reporting to Accounting Officer (“ACO”), the Accounting Assistant will be responsible for the following duties of the cost centres assigned:
- To process payments, prepare payment vouchers and dispatch cheques to ensure that transactions are in accordance with the financial procedures;
- To process advance payments and final settlements of overseas duty travel expenses;
- To issue debit notes for billing requests;
- To handle daily collection, cash count and reconciliation of the daily collection;
- To handle petty cash disbursement, replenishment and journal preparation;
- To maintain creditors accounts, debtors accounts and other funding accounts of the respective user departments;
- To prepare for month-end journals and bank reconciliations;
- To assist ACO in preparing for regular and month-end analysis and reports to user departments;
- To maintain proper filing of accounting records; and
- To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.
The Requirements
- Applicants should have: (1) a minimum of 5 passes in HKCEE or 5 HKDSE subjects with at least Level 2 or equivalent, including English, Chinese and Mathematics; or (2) any post-secondary qualification;
- Holder of LCCI Level 2; or diploma / higher certificate in Accounting is preferable;
- Fair communication skills in both spoken and written English and Chinese;
- Good in excel worksheet manipulation and Chinese Word Processing; and
- Knowledge in Sun Account System and Infor Q&A is an advantage, but not a must.
