Effective functional progressions in sport rehabilitation
(SIC call no.: RD97 .E45 2009)

Published by Human Kinetics in 2009, and authored by T. Ellenbecker, M. De Carlo, and C. DeRosa, the book helps clinicians understand the concepts of functional progressions and develop appropriate rehabilitation programs.  The book consists of two parts. The first part explains the concept and benefits of functional progressions and provides useful resources for developing functional rehabilitation programs.  The second part reviews functional progressions for the three body regions - upper extremity, lower extremity and trunk - in three chapters.  Each chapter looks at the anatomical, muscular and biomechanical features, common injuries, functional testing, and exercise progression. Another useful feature of the book is that all images and sample templates in the text are available online. The book provides sports medicine clinicians with the strategies and tools to bring injured athletes back to competitions.

Functional testing in human performance
(SIC call no.: RM725 .R38 2009)
Published by Human Kinetics in 2009, written by M.P. Reiman and R.C. Manske - two professors in physical therapy, the book provides information on clinical and data-based functional testing for sport, exercise and occupational settings.  To enhance understanding, the book includes a number of case studies which show the application of functional testing, and a DVD which features live-action demonstrations of 40 of the most advanced tests.  This book is an essential reference for clinicians to understand how to execute the most appropriate functional test in human performance and testing sequence.
