HKSI elite athletes and sports science professionals share with media on preparation for London Olympics

Three ¡§Meet the Media¡¨ sessions were arranged on 1 May and 4 June for elite fencers and rowers who have been qualified for the London Olympic selection, their coaches, as well as sports science professionals, to share with the media their preparation and expectation for the Games.

Former Chief Executive meets athletes at Government House

On 6 June, former Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive Donald Tsang met athletes who had qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, along with their coaches, at Government House, where he talked with the athletes and coaches to understand the progress of their preparations, and encouraged them to perform well at the two Games.


HKSI supports ¡§Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics¡¨

Organised by Hong Kong Special Olympics, seven local disciplinary forces and the Hong Kong Sports Association for the Mentally Handicapped, the ¡§2012 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics¡¨ was successfully held on 20 May at the HKSI. Over 2,500 law enforcement officers and other participants from special schools and the public joined a charity run to raise fund for the development of sports activities for people with intellectual disabilities.

Recently, Ko Lai-chak and Li Ching, silver medallists of the table tennis men¡¦s doubles event at the Athens Olympics, were invited by Sun Hung Kai Properties to a series of promotional events at their shopping malls, including two press conferences for the ¡§Landmark North London Sports Maniac¡¨ exhibition and Sun Hung Kai Properties shopping malls activities held on 20 May and 12 June respectively at the World Trade Centre, where they shared their experiences and were appointed as sports ambassadors for eight Sun Hung Kai Properties shopping malls.
