HKSI・s latest Annual Report available online
The Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) has published its Annual Report for 2009-10, which provides a comprehensive account of its sporting achievements and work over the period. To view the report, please click here.

HKSAR Chief Executive visits HKSI

Accompanied by the Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing, HKSAR Chief Executive Donald Tsang visited the HKSI on 26 January 2011, during which he toured the upgraded and renovated facilities under the HKSI Redevelopment Project, and had lunch with current and retired athletes to understand their needs for education and career guidance support. The Chief Executive reiterated the Government・s determination to promote sport in Hong Kong, and stressed that it will continue to increase investment in supporting local elite athletes.


Students from Apprentice Jockeys・ School visit HKSI
Seven students and staff members from The Hong Kong Jockey Club・s Apprentice Jockeys・ School visited the HKSI on 14 January 2011, where they toured the HKSI・s elite sports training facilities, such as Badminton & Wushu Hall, Fencing Hall, Squash Courts, and Fitness Training Centre.

Yeung Chui-ling interviewed by uChannel

Fencer Yeung Chui-ling, who won two bronze medals in the Women・s Individual Epee and Team Epee events at the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games, was invited as a guest on uChannel, an online radio programme of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, on 6 January 2011, where she shared with the audience her experience during the Asian Games. Other guests on this episode included Under Secretary for Home Affairs Florence Hui, and former athletes Hung Chung-yam and Tsai Hiu-wai.

Published by A&C Black in 2008 and authored by Graeme Marsh, a highly qualified and experienced personal trainer in the UK, the book demonstrates the use of free weights for strength, conditioning and flexibility training. In addition to a variety of exercises, the book also contains sample programmes, tips on technique and exercises for specific sports, ages and body types. All exercises are illustrated by colour photographs. The text is a straightforward and useful guide on using free weights for training purpose.
