Two ¡§Meet the Media" sessions were held by the HKSI on 30 September, where athletes and coaches from two Elite Sports, namely triathlon and fencing, shared their preparations for the 2010 Asian Games.

Two Youth Olympic Games medallists receive Youth Athletes Scholarship Awards
|
Two athletes, Jasmine Lai (equestrian) and Cheng Chun-leung (windsurfing) received a total of HK$25,600 under the Youth Athletes Scholarship Awards to recognise their medal achievements at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG). The award was presented at the Welcome Home Ceremony held for YOG participants at the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) on 16 September. |
Ko Lai-chak and Li Ching named The Ten Outstanding Young Persons

The HKSI would like to congratulate table tennis athletes Ko Lai-chak and Li Ching for being selected as awardees of ¡§The Ten Outstanding Young Persons Selection 2010¡¨. They partnered to win a silver medal in the Men¡¦s Doubles at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, the first Olympic medal for Hong Kong since her return to China. Later at the 2006 Doha Asian Games, the duo won a gold medal in the Men¡¦s Doubles and a bronze medal in the Men¡¦s Team. Over the years, they have been actively participating in sport promotion activities, charity events and community services. |
Li Ching named JMEN Men of 2010

Table tennis player Li Ching was named “Men of 2010” by JMEN for his dedication to sports over the years and was invited to attend the awards presentation ceremony on 15 September. To celebrate its anniversary, JMEN selected 10 outstanding recipients from the community and Li was the representative of the sports category. |
Yu Chui-yee shares at MTR and Labour Department events

Wheelchair fencer Yu Chui-yee was invited to speak at the MTR Corporate Meeting and the Labour Department Youth Career Talk in September, where she shared her extraordinary story and sporting life with many executives and youngsters. |
Kowloon Dairy makes donation to HKSI
|
Kowloon Dairy hosted a school promotion campaign early this year to invite all kindergarten and primary school students to create handicraft with milk boxes. The company has committed to donate HK$1 for each decorated box to the HKSI in support of Hong Kong¡¦s elite sports development. Winners of each category were selected by the judging panel in mid-June, and the awards presentation ceremony was held on 26 September, where squash athlete Joey Chan Ho-ling and Public Affairs & Marketing Manager Rainnie Ip represented the HKSI to receive the donation cheque.

The book also includes useful information for instructors, for instance, advice on managing equipment and classes, and comes with a CD-ROM which contains a lot of useful materials. Instructors and participants should find it a practical, informative and handy resource. |

It also contains specific needling procedures for achieving maximal recovery from training, competition, overtraining syndrome, and ultimately facilitating rehabilitation. Athletes can improve significantly their physical performance by the regular use of this de-stressing therapy.
